Sniff On That, Ansel Adams

Manual, Schmanual

My new camera arrived today!

Those of you who were within earshot of my garage last weekend will remember that my trusty camera fell out of the back of Jon Bon Jovi's El Camino and endo'd down my driveway with a gut-twisting splatter.

(Let me apologize once again for my colorful language and moderate loss of temper, particularly to my neighbor Mrs. Lingenbottom whose three-year-old granddaughter was playing in the front yard at the time. Little Greta did some hard time in the preschool office on Monday after being overheard commenting to another adorable cherub that if she had to eat one more friggin' fishy cracker she was going to have a friggin' meltdown.

Only she didn't say "friggin'."

As I said: my bad. I think we've all learned a little something from this about self-control, yes?)

Anyway.

I got a new camera! I just busted it out of its box and I've already taken a few shots around the house. Man, this thing is amazing. I'm glad I sprang the extra rocks for the bells and whistles - they make all the difference in the quality of the shots.

I think I may have found a new calling!

Check these out:

A candid of Morticia.

My office. (Only took a couple of tries to get this one.)

The puppies!

Gomez looking pensive.

Sometimes art just happens.

Morticia's flute concert. How about that zoom, huh?

I took this with a special cockapoo-obscuring filter.

Best part: this model comes with a custom setting for shooting in the dark.

Like I said - amazing!

Huge Thanks to everyone who's voted to put our comedy panel "DYING IS EASY - COMEDY IS HARD" on the BlogHer Conference agenda! There's still time to vote if you'd like, as well as see the other programs being proposed...you can do that here. (Scroll down to the post below this one for all the details and the scoop on how to vote.) Thanks again so much for your support!

  15. New cameras are always fun.I never thought to use the one on my old cell phone, but since Santa gave me an iPhone for Christmas I'm snapping snaps all over the place, and slinging email pix all over the globe. It's just incredible how the digital camera has brought out everyone's inner artist, even if we didn't know it was there before. And we don't need air brushing like all the celebs. We can just snap, snap, snap...delete, delete, delete until we get just the right shot!

  16. Having the option of a giant green arrow on your pictures is an awesome camera feature!!!!

  17. Reading your blog is the best ab workout ever!

  19. Oh my hell, you crack me up!

That shot of the dog on the carpet? I think that is what I was looking at. How often does that poor thing get stepped on?

I will find you at BlogHer! I can't wait to meet you.

  20. You are a natural with that camera! I am jealous that it comes with the special cockapoo-obscuring filter! I don't have that feature :(

  21. Oh lordy.. thank you so much for the laugh you gave me this morning. I always enjoy reading your blog, but this morning was truly classic. Poor Greta.. lol. And the pictures.. those were just so great. I think my husband was waiting to assess egg quality when I was done.

Really.. thank you so much. =]

  22. Sometimes art just happens.

That is my favorite by far. I'm going to use that line when my husband asks why I didn't delete whatever crappy picture I left on the digital camera.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I keep thinking if I buy a better camera, I'll take better pictures. Having seen your pictures, I know now that it's absolutely true!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think this is how Ansel Adams got his start!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I really want to get a new camera, too, but I'm so cheap that I doubt it will happen for a very long time, until I'm absolutely compelled to.

I've needed a new lap-top computer for ages but have delayed purchasing it. Similarly, my parents are making me pay my own cell phone bill starting after my birthday, a move I've tried to dissuade them from taking.

    I'm a chronic saver. It's my curse.

  26. You are art yourself, Ms Anna...pure art...

    ReplyDelete
  27. You are going to rock that conference. I was slapping my desk with laughter at the pictures and your comments.

Okay, I am going to try to go vote again NOW.

    Wish me luck.

    Love Renee

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh I love the Cock-a-Poo Obscuring feature. I'm glad it is a cock-a-poo and not a pooless cock that it obscures.
