Thank you, Chicago! Good Night!

A Brief BlogHer '09 Roundup

The view from my room.

I represent.

Good times with my Robert Osborne bobble-head.
(Hard-earned swag from the Swiffer party.
Talk about a cat-fight at the loot table - mrowr!)

Oh, Bob. You animal.

My new dream car.

The humor panel (L-R): Wendi Aarons, Kelcey from Mamabirddiaries,
Jessica Bern, Moi, Deb on the Rocks (standing),

The Bloggess. (A brief musical interlude
during which she sang "Yo

  1. I loved your panel! It was hands down my favorite. It was great to meet you, however briefly. But you are far too beautiful and tall for my taste. I like my women short and swarthy. Sorry.

  2. Oh how I wished I had attended - I actually live outside Chicago but was up in the Northwoods of Wisconsin on those dates. Hopefully I'll go to the next one. Looks like a lot of fun! Congrats on going and being a part of this!

  3. I was asked to go to BlogHer and I can't believe I said "no"!

    Looks like so much fun!!

  4. I'm a new blogger, and I had no idea how cool BlogHer would be...I hope you guys reprise your panel next year, because it looks like a hysterical bunch of ladies.

  5. Squee! I see me all the way in the back! 33rd back, 42nd from the right! No, the one next to the one who's yawning. Yeah! I KNOW!
    You rocked that panel!

  6. A small part of my head made your blog post. That's enough for me, Anna.

  11. Yet another reason to be depressed that I didn't get to go...the weinermobile shot.

    Sniff.

Glad you had a great time!!! Em

  12. That looks like it would have been a fun conference!

  13. I've always heard that Robert Osborne was a man-'ho. Now we have photographic evidence!

  14. Your panel WOULD HAVE been my favorite, had I been able to GET IN! Next year, I'm camping out in line the night before.

  15. Awesome panel! Crowd picture is the best! I mean, look at my hair, all glossy and smooth right there in front row, left. And, not even from the Suave swag. If I had known my hair had looked that great, I would have asked a question. Even worse is knowing I've probably peaked, hair-wise, and didn't milk it that day. Sigh. But hey, we'll always have Chicago. (And, truly, panel was highlight for me.)

  16. I am still so mad that they put you and PW at the same time. The only reason I went to her class, is because I was lucky enough to dine with you the night before. Thank you for sharing your time with little old me.

Everyone I talked to LOVED your class/panel. I am going to file a complaint! I should have been there too.

  17. All I hear about is the cat-fighting-for-swag...which I don't want any part of. But - if I knew there was a wiener mobile...I woulda clawed my way for a ride on that hotdog!

  20. One more adoring fan to say, I loved your panel, so much fun, laughed until it hurt and you smart, witty ladies had great tips. It was a thrill to meet you and get to hang out a little.

  21. Next year, gol darn it...next year I will attend...I want some cool bobblehead swag too!

    Sounds like a blast!

  22. Well, I was chillin' at the park with party hats and balloons that day. One of the ol' offspring was turning two. The nerve!

  23. I'm sad I missed my chance to meet you, since I was milling about each afternoon/evening.

That panel would have been great to attend, if only I had tickets. And if I could have shouldered my way into what I heard was a very tiny room.

  24. Oh...I will SOOO be there next year. Noseglasses on. My sister in the struggle.

  27. excellent recap.

So fun to humor panel with you!

  28. Your session was the best session I went to, all of you rocked. Plus you actually gave tips on how to be a better blogger, a 'crazy' idea it appears to be at BlogHer.

    Thanks!

  29. I don't care how many new friends you have. Just so long as there's still room for me.

  30. So you're the famous Anna Lefler. Lolling on the floor was so worth it to hear your pearls (ahem! NGIP).

  31. Great wrap-up; funny with a cool "Be here all week!" vibe. I'm especially taken with your incognito badge and with... sigh... the Weinermobile. I was unnaturally obsessed with it while in grad school and started the application process to drive one. And oh! I just remembered -- it came with a video -- which was so good and filled with the Up With People! sorts they were looking for. I knew I didn't have the perkiness necessary for the work, so I didn't apply.

Maybe I should now, and then drive to next year's BlogHer convention. How cool would I be?

Oh, and I wish I were there and am just burying my jealousy with thoughts of sausage-shaped vehicles.

  32. I wish I had been there. Can you recreate the event for me when we go to lunch? Feel free to bring Robert and puppets to stand in for the other bloggers.

  33. You guys were the true highlight of my weekend.

Panel, plus after -- hanging out on what seemed like a gangway for busboys.

PS: My older girl, same as yours: so much nicer now.
    Sigh.

    Mostly: THANKS!

  34. You are a blogstar, and the panel was awesome. You are so freaking smart. And fast. And judicious in showing us the Robert Bobblehead BEFORE you got into bed, and the Weiner Mobile BEFORE your threw yourself on it like the last bun in the bag. You weiner lover.

I'm your biggest fangirl now. All the way.

  35. glad you had fun my dear. hope to be in NYC next year with everyone :)

  36. You're panel was great.
Allright, you got me. I wasn't really there. I think it was the kids fault, or my fear of flying. Maybe the dog ate my ticket. Crap, I can't remember.
Heard you rocked. Maybe next year!

  37. Your panel was awesome. And we're so jealous of your hot hookup with Bob.

  38. A wienermobile!!!!!!! I think I just had a tiny little orgasm. Where can I get one?

  39. I'm so bummed that I missed your panel, but we stumbled on a bar serving $3.00 margaritas. You just can't walk out on that.

  40. How fun for you! You are so cool to get to do that!
    Kasha and Africa!

  41. Loved y'all's panel. A little hurt by the lack of pictures of me in this post, but I'll let it slide.

  42. I LOVED your mustache laden name tag!!

  43. Sure wish I could have been there!

  44. Have I already said this somewhere? If so, I apologize for seeming stalkerish ... I loved your panel. When Neilochka complained about people not going to his panel (storytelling) because nobody wants to learn how to write? I was all, they talked about writing. I just can't remember what they said because I was laughing so hard.

  45. Your panel was amazing. BlogHer needs to have a humor/writing track next year!!! It was so much fun meeting you and hanging out! Check my blog today for a picture of you looking all gorgeous. :)

  46. Thanks for the recap. I felt like I was there but you can't have the Oscar Meyer Wiener car. It's mine! It's all mine!

If you get a chance, stop by and enter my contest for a Nanny McPhee DVD, electronic catch phrase, and a $25 Target Gift card.

  51. Oh, man! I wish I could have gone. I really wanted to see you guys doing your schtick!

But I did try to make do with a BlogherNot party. It was a blast and all the right people attended.

Oh, but I'm sorry I missed your schtick. Did somebody tape it?
